Aegean-1  Ephesus & Pergamon

TOUR HIGHLIGHT: return domestica ir ticket, ephesus, virgin mary house, pergamon acropolis

ITINERARIES:

Day1. Istanbul Izmir Ephesus (L,D):   Early morning flight to Izmir, meeting at the airport on arrive and tour start. The birthplace of Homer and departure for Ephesus, one of the twlve cities of the lonian League during the classical Greek period. Ephesus was also one of the “Seven Churches of Anatolia (Asis)” that are cited in the Book of Revelation.   Visit to the old Greco – Roman city of Ephesus, Marble Street, Odeon, Bouleterion, Temple of Hadrian and Serapis, Agora, Library of Celsus, Great Theatre, Double church, Arcadian Way, Gate of Magnesia.   Last abode of Virgin Mary at Mount Solmissos.

Lunch at Selçuk.

Visit to Isabey Mosque, one of the oldest and most impressive Works of architectural art remaining from Anatolian Beyliks and the Temple of Artemis, one of the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World”. Return to Izmir for accomodating of overnight.

Day2. Izmir Pergamon and return(B, L):    Early morning drive to Pergamum, ancient Greek City and the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamum.   Visit to Aesculapium, ancient medical center built in the name of Aesculapis, “God of Medicine” where different healing methods like blood transfusion, meditation, therapy with music and sound of water were first used.

After lunch continue to Pergamum Acropolis with Athena and Torjan Temples, Temple of Zeus, Temple of Dionysos, Gymnasium of Yout, Odeon, Library, Agora, Great Theatre and Roma Bath.  Return to İzmir for evening flight to Istanbul, back.
